Learn to draw accurate, lifelike portraits using a classical academic approach. Suitable for beginners through advanced students, this course introduces essential tools for achieving greater accuracy faster. Through demonstrations and individualized feedback, students will learn proportional canons, measurement systems, anatomical structure, and how to organize value relationships. This course gives students a systematic approach to portraiture that builds confidence, improves observation, and helps capture a convincing likeness with the illusion of form in space.
Astoria Jellett has trained at both the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts and Florence Academy of Art, and combines both approaches to give you a taste of atelier training.
