2025 Jacob and Gwendolyn Knight Lawrence Lecture With Nari Ward
October 16, 6pm | Jepson Center
Free and open to the public
Telfair Museums and Telfair’s Friends of African American Arts present the 18th Annual Lawrence Lecture by artist Nari Ward, who is represented by a work in the current Telfair exibition, In Reflection: Contemporary Art and Ourselves. Some of his works, including his Breathing Bars, currently on loan from the Art Bridges collection, makes use of an African symbol representing the cycle of life that the artist saw in Savannah's First African Baptist Church. This lecture, founded at Telfair by Dr. Walter O. Evans, is free and open to the public thanks to funding provided by the Jacob and Gwendolyn Lawrence Foundation. Additional funding thanks to investment provided by the City of Savannah.
