"Brush & Tide: A Painting Retreat on Ossabaw Island"

 Escape to the unspoiled beauty of Ossabaw Island for a two-day immersive painting workshop. Surrounded by maritime forests, tidal creeks, and expansive marsh, this unique retreat offers artists the chance to deepen their practice in a place of rare serenity and inspiration. Participants will have the opportunity to create and paint at multiple island locations, exploring various tides, lighting, and islands. Meals, ferry, island tour guide, and shared accommodations at the Ossabaw Island Boarding House are included. The boarding house has four rooms with two single beds. Bring your own bug spray and art materials. All media welcome: oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache

Selected works created during this trip will be exhibited at the Jepson Center, April 24 – June 21, 2026  

Itinerary (subject to change)

Day 1 March 28: Arrival, Exploration, Paint

• 9:30 - 9:45 am Check in at Delegal Marina for boat to Ossabaw
• 10:00 am Ferry to Ossabaw from Savannah
• 11:00 am-11:00 pm Welcome orientation and island overview tour
• 12:00–1:00 PM – Lunch & informal discussion
• 1:00–4:00 PM – First location, Afternoon painting session
• 4:00-5:00 pm snacks and rest
• 6:00 PM Second location, sunset painting (optional)
• Evening, Late dinner, and group Discussion/ critique
  
  

Day 2, March 29th: More Painting

• Pre-dawn, Light breakfast
• Morning 3rd location, Sunrise painting (optional)
• Late Morning, 4th location, painting
• 12:00–1:00 PM – Lunch
• 1:00–3:00 PM –5th location and Final painting session
• 3:30 PM – Group critique and discussion

         4:30 PM – Ferry back to Savannah
          5:15 Pm  Approximate arrival time at the mainland
